Smoked Sliced Salmon
Elegant, simple, and packed with flavour, this smoked sliced salmon is perfect for brunch spreads, entertaining, or serving as a refined appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skin removed
- 2 tbsp kosher salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- Fresh dill, for garnish
- Wood chips (apple or cherry recommended)
Method
- In a small bowl, combine the kosher salt, sugar, and black pepper.
- Rub the mixture evenly over the salmon fillet.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours to lightly cure.
- Rinse the salmon and pat dry.
- Slice the salmon thinly and arrange it on a serving platter.
- Place the salmon into your smoker and add a small amount of wood chips.
- Infuse with smoke for about 5 minutes.
- Garnish with lemon slices and fresh dill.
- Serve immediately for the best flavour and presentation.
