Smoked Sliced Salmon

Elegant, simple, and packed with flavour, this smoked sliced salmon is perfect for brunch spreads, entertaining, or serving as a refined appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skin removed
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • Fresh dill, for garnish
  • Wood chips (apple or cherry recommended)

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine the kosher salt, sugar, and black pepper.
  2. Rub the mixture evenly over the salmon fillet.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours to lightly cure.
  4. Rinse the salmon and pat dry.
  5. Slice the salmon thinly and arrange it on a serving platter.
  6. Place the salmon into your smoker and add a small amount of wood chips.
  7. Infuse with smoke for about 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh dill.
  9. Serve immediately for the best flavour and presentation.
