Smoked Sushi

Fresh, elegant, and lightly infused with smoke, these smoked sushi bites are a unique way to elevate date nights, dinner parties, or a simple sushi platter at home.

Ingredients

  • Sushi rice
  • Nori sheets
  • Fillings of choice (salmon, avocado, cucumber, crab, etc.)
  • Soy sauce
  • Pickled ginger
  • Wasabi
  • Wood chips (apple, cherry, or oak recommended)

Basic Sushi Rice Seasoning

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

  1. Prepare your sushi rice and season it with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  2. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat.
  3. Add rice and your chosen fillings, then roll tightly.
  4. Slice into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Arrange the sushi bites on a plate or serving board.
  6. Place them into your smoker and add a small amount of wood chips.
  7. Infuse with smoke for 30–60 seconds.
